KIHON

learning, drilling, and practicing the basic techniques of Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, or Wrestling to achieve it’s desired result.

KATA

applying the aforementioned in a predetermined series of movements designed to manipulate you and your opponent into the position required for you to successfully execute your technique(s).

KUMITE

applying the knowledge gained from practicing the aforementioned in a fluid situation with a 'live' opponent.

Sparring can include, but is not limited to, the following scenarios:

  • bare-knuckle karate transitioning to the ground for submission grappling

  • beginning, intermediate, or advanced MMA with grappling with or without striking

  • training in Shidokan both with gi or no-gi
